Official Story: The strange being known as T.Catt
(a name taken in homage to his hero, Bill The Cat) blindly
wondered onto the internet in 1996 where he promptly discovered
the Usenet, or, more specifically, the Newsgroup, "alt.binaries.pictures.erotica.cartoons. "Hey!" he
said in his probably fake Georgian drawl, "Lookit awl th'
swell drawin's of nekkid comic book girlies! Shee-oot, ah
kin do dat!" And so he did. Thus, in 1996, T.Catt made his
first 6 posts to the internet: three nude portraits and three
lesbian group scenes. Two hours later he received the following
reply: "Move over Max! T.Catt has entered the building!" Max
was a regular ABPEC artist of some note, and one of the artists
T.Catt had come to admire, so this post was quite pleasing
indeed. And it wasn't the last of such posts. For several
days, the fuzzy feline watched the praise roll in. He had
finally found his home! So, a little while later, he drew
and posted more pics. And then more. And more, each time
refining his technique a little. Soon he was a regular ABPEC
personality, posting pics and chatting with his new virtual
friends.
After a few years, however, the appeal of the Newsgroups
began to wane. Increased SPAM, trolls and flame-wars and
a decrease in the posting of original art caused T.Catt to
make fewer and fewer appearances. About that time he also
graduated from college, moved to the Big City and started
taking on freelance illustration jobs. This severely cut
into his free time and thus, the amount of "comerotica" that
he had time for steadily dropped off. No big deal. The Newsgroups
sucked now anyway.
Then, sometime around 1999, T.Catt made an amazing discovery:
Yahoo Groups! Here were not one, but TWO thriving communities
of comerotica fans just itching for new blood. Feeling inspired
once again, T.Catt joined the ranks of the Erotic-Artist-Workshop
and Erotic-Comic-Cartoons and was soon drawing and posting
regularly again. It wasn't long before he made new friends,
and began collaborating with some of the amazing artists
he met there on some really amazing projects. Soon, he had
produced his own website, "ACK! The T.Catt Homepage," on
which to archive his work. Life was good. The future was
bright. Shades were worn. And it was only getting better.
In 2000 or so, T.Catt began seeking colorists to help him
maintain a regular pace with posting. Many submitted and,
in the end, T.Catt chose two native sons of EAW/ECC, the
mysterious Oni and the amazing Miravi. Thus it was, after
2 years of cooperative work, T.Catt invited them and two
other Yahoo Group artists, Creecher and Roadkill to form,
this, CattHouse Studios!
